Saint John Community Food Basket

Everyday I wake up and take for granted the simple act of opening my fridge and grabbing some food to start my day. For many people in Saint John though, this is not a reality. This is my hometown, and it's upsetting to think that any child has to go to school on an empty stomach.

In 2015, 9,798 adults and 2,633 children required the Saint John Community Food Basket to provide them with food. This number is not decreasing and the resources involved in running the SJCFB is fragile.

We have become so preoccupied in our own daily lives that we often, unintentionally, forget about the needs of others. I wanted to fix this and provide an easy way for people to make an impact in our city. As little as it may be, I want to provide any amount of support for the families requiring this community service.

We all have limited resources. I wanted to give back and figured I could come up with various ways using my own talents to generate passive income for the SJCFB. This is why I started the following initiatives:

"Feast for The Eyes" - An event where I sell prints with 100% of the proceeds going to the SJCFB;

Pristine X Collaboration - A clothing collaboration with Saint John lifestyle company Pristine where proceeds go to the SJCFB.

Download Proceeds - 50% of my download proceeds for every payed photograph download are given on a yearly basis to the SJCFB.

Small acts of charity add up over time. We can all make a difference in our community; mine is one photograph at a time.
